Elevating passenger experience and airline revenues

Safran / Aries Business Class

Safran’s Aries is a thoughtful evolution of their ground breaking Cirrus seat platform that combines a premium user experience with a higher density layout, simultaneously enhancing passenger comfort and boosting airline profitability.

Inspired by the insight that vertical space within the cabin is under-utilised, Aries’ intelligent seat kinematic introduces an overlap to the passengers’ feet in the sleeping configuration. This subtle variation is enough to deliver a 10% increase in the number of seats that can fit into any business class cabin.

The seat was selected by Japan Airlines for its Boeing 787-9 and 777-200ER cabins.

“The use of space in particular is excellent. It is interesting to note that while user ratings show preferences for “upper” and “lower” seats, there is no significant bias.

The design provides a more comfortable travel experience by making clever use of space within the limited space on board.”
